VTC fleets in Ciudad Real: how to spread the cars between the high-speed stations, La Mancha and Barajas, how jobs are assigned and paid, and what the fleet-management software does
Ciudad Real is a large province with two markets: the Campo de Calatrava, Daimiel and Puertollano, with short, repeated connections to the high-speed stations and the capital's General Hospital; and the La Mancha of Alcázar, Tomelloso and Valdepeñas, with no high-speed rail, with long transfers to Barajas and Madrid along the A-4 and appointments at the Mancha Centro hospital. A partner fleet places its authorisations and drivers in both; the platform brings the customers, the fixed price, the trip sheet and the payment: each job enters the fleet's panel with its amount, is assigned to a car and the money reaches the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the published commission separated. Alcázar to Barajas is 170 km; Almagro to Ciudad Real station, 27 km.

Why does a Ciudad Real fleet need cars in two places?
Because the high-speed line splits the province in two. Around Ciudad Real and Puertollano the jobs are short and frequent: village to station for a train time, station to home on arrival, the General University Hospital with a wait, Almagro in festival season. A car in the capital can do four or five in a morning. Around Alcázar de San Juan, Tomelloso, Campo de Criptana and Valdepeñas there is no high-speed rail and the jobs are long: Barajas, Atocha or Chamartín along the A-4, two hours each way that take up half a day, and the Mancha Centro hospital, which serves all of Ciudad Real's La Mancha. One car cannot be in both places, and a fleet that spreads one or two cars in each area covers what a lone self-employed driver cannot.
The reference figures are the engine's and the ones the customer sees: Almagro to Ciudad Real station, 27 km from 43,37 €; Miguelturra to Ciudad Real's General Hospital, 5 km; Alcázar to Barajas, 170 km and about 119 min, from 215,24 €; Tomelloso to the Mancha Centro hospital, 35 km. The gap between a high-speed connection and a Barajas from La Mancha is the gap between chaining and dedicating a car.
How does a job enter the fleet's panel, and how is it assigned?
The customer books at a fixed price and the job enters the zone's queue. The fleet sees it in its partner panel with the amount it will be paid and accepts it for one of its cars, assigning it to a specific driver or letting the first free one of its own take it; the driver carries it in the app like any job — navigation, states, trip sheet generated before departure — and the fleet sees the status of all its jobs, which car is on each and what is unassigned. High-speed connections carry the train number and the app follows delays; hospital jobs say whether there is a wait and return.
The network's three rules are not negotiable: the fixed price agreed with the customer is what is charged, with no on-board surcharges; the pickup time is the one paid for, with the published courtesy wait; and no car solicits at the stations' taxi ranks or on the street, because the service is always pre-booked. A fleet that misses a pickup without warning loses priority, and the customer, who has paid in advance, is served by another car.
How does the fleet get paid?
Into its own bank account: the customer pays by card when booking and the amount lands in the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the published commission — 15% of each job — separated in the same movement; cash collected on board belongs to the fleet and is deducted from the next settlement. Every Monday the weekly summary arrives with every job, its amount, the commission and the tips, which belong to the drivers and carry no commission. Non-payment is not the fleet's risk: the job performed is settled even if the customer does not show, and late cancellations are paid under the published policy. Anyone who prefers to keep their own customers and prices has the other formula, the platform as a tool for a fee per licence per month, which the fleets page explains and which is not on sale yet.
What does the fleet-management software do in such a large province?
Above all, tracking the kilometres. In Ciudad Real a La Mancha car does far more than a Campo de Calatrava one, and that changes maintenance, fuel and servicing for each vehicle: the software records them per car, together with expiry dates for roadworthiness tests, insurance, authorisation, transport card and drivers' licences, Barajas tolls and parking, claims, income from every platform the fleet works with and the split with each driver according to their agreement. It warns before anything expires and produces the month's result per car, which is what tells you whether the Tomelloso car pays off or should be moved to Alcázar. It is included for partner fleets and those in the partners network; a fleet that does not work with the platform can subscribe on its own, by the month.
What paperwork does joining require, and how do you start?
Valid VTC authorisations in the fleet's name, passenger-cover insurance for each vehicle, the roadworthiness test and registration document, and the drivers' licences; the platform checks them at sign-up, watches the expiry dates and generates the trip sheet and the filing with the national services register before each job for every car. Jobs ending in Madrid, Córdoba or Jaén are legal under a Castilla-La Mancha authorisation because the origin is in the province; stationing cars for jobs originating outside the region only fits within the share the ROTT allows. The application is sent from the fleets page or the partners and operators page with the number of authorisations and the areas — the capital, La Mancha or both — and sign-up opens the fleet's panel and its payment account.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth having a car in Alcázar or Tomelloso as well as in the capital?
Nobody can decide that in advance: it depends on the jobs arriving from each area, which the panel shows. The fleet software produces the result per car and month, which is the figure to decide with.
Is the fleet paid into its own account or the platform's?
Its own, through Stripe Connect: the amount lands with the published commission separated in the same movement, and on Monday the weekly summary arrives trip by trip.
Can a fleet car wait at the high-speed station's taxi rank?
No. The pickup is always a customer with a booking and their train on the job; waiting at the rank or soliciting on the platform is prohibited for a VTC.
How much is Alcázar to Barajas, the typical long transfer?
170 km and about 119 min, from 215,24 € according to the route engine; it is the price the customer sees and on which the commission is calculated.

How we write, where the figures come from and how we correct an error: editorial policy.
The published commission, courtesy waiting time and cancellation policy are the panel settings when the page is opened. Kilometre, minute and price figures come from the route engine; none of this promises a volume of jobs.
